Newborn Must Haves!
Being a Mum of 3 (3!! That gets me every time!) Here is a list of our newborn
Chicco Next2me Dream Crib
Pros: Height adjustable to be in line with your bed. You can have the side up so you are separate from your baby or have it down
Cons: They are costly coming in at around £200 but you can find them pre-loved and then just buy a new mattress. They are quite bulky and if your babies are small then they seem so spacious.
2. Sleepyhead Deluxe This was a godsend to me as my daughter was a tiny 6lb 1oz and her crib seemed too big. She also preferred sleeping on her side so this kept her
Pros: You can move it easily around the house for your newborn to take naps. Perfect for use in the bed when co-sleeping. Gives babies a cozy feel.
Cons: Again this is an expensive one costing around £130.00 with extra covers at an additional, extortianate price of £55.00 each and you will need at least one of these unless you have a baby that does not poo, wee or sick up milk! Safer sleep guidelines do not recommend these due to the risk of SIDS so please use at own risk.
Aden & Anais large swaddles
3. Aden & Anais large swaddles This will be a personal choice but my daughter loved to hold on to a large blanket at night and to cover her face!! Eeek!! Mum panic! Aden & Anais large swaddles are made of breathable fabric…phew! This helps ease your might just a tad. Not that
Pros: Super large sizing so can have multi-uses. Used as a breastfeeding cover when in public, place on the floor for tummy time, used as a muslin, perfect for swaddling and cuddling. Breathable fabric, super soft even after plenty of washes.
Cons: The only con is that they have beautiful designs which make you want to purchase them all!! Haha.
White Noise App
4. White Noise App White noise can be a god send! I use an app on my Samsung Galaxy called Happy Baby, the hairdryer noise instantly calms my daughter. We tried Ollie the Gro Owl and the My Hummy bear, these are both pricey but neither of them worked!
Pros: The App is free to download and has plenty of sound options.
Cons: Unless you have a device that will play the sound via
5. A Caddy How can something so simple be such a fantastic product. This was purchased from Amazon at an absolute bargain price of £9.99 with free delivery for Prime members. I filled it with nappies, wipes, nappy sacks, nappy cream, spare dummies, a spare muslin, a nail file and change of outfit. I took the caddy with me to whichever room I was in and had everything on hand, at night it would be on my bedside cabinet so I wouldn’t need to go searching for anything. Click here to purchase from Amazon.
Pros: Keeps everything in one place. An absolute bargain. Very spacious. Can be used once your baby has grown up for many other things.
Cons: None at all.
Your newborn will not do much other than sleep, feed and poop so there is not too much you actually need! You don’t need fancy baby swaddles as blankets will do! You don’t need toys or items that make the crib/
